Your support helps sustain the Madison Zen Center.
Upholding the precepts,
repentance and giving,
the countless good deeds,
and the way of right living
all come from zazen.Master Hakuin’s Chant in Praise of Zazen
Our 125+ year-old home, on Jefferson Street in Madison, serves as an anchor for our Zen practice, embodying a sanctuary where tradition, mindfulness, and community converge to support our practice. Thanks to the generous contributions from our donors, we have made significant and necessary improvements to our home. These enhancements include replacing outdated and unsafe wiring, updating obsolete windows, and repairing our front walkway and porch railings. We also received a gracious donation for the purchase of a kitchen vent hood which will be installed soon. However, to maintain and enhance our facility, we seek your support for the following projects:
- Updating Kitchen Cabinets and Flooring: To better serve our needs during sesshin and other group functions, we need to update the kitchen cabinets, drawers, and flooring.
- Repairing Woodwork: Time and the elements have taken a toll on the wooden siding and trim of our building and garage. There is an immediate need to repair or replace and paint much of our exterior.
