Service is an important part of Zen practice. At the Madison Zen Center, we offer regular opportunities to volunteer both within the Center and in the wider community.
Luke House Community Meal
On the second Tuesday of each month, we volunteer at Luke House, a community meal program in Madison that provides free dinners to those in need.
Helping prepare, serve, and clean up meals is a way to extend practice into compassionate action.

Monthly Work Sessions at the Center
Each month, we gather at the Center for a work period to clean, care for, and maintain the space we practice in together. This might include garden work, sweeping, dusting, repairs, or other simple tasks.
Work sessions are posted on the calendar.
All are welcome, whether you stay for an hour or the whole session. Your presence and energy are always appreciated.
